NASHVILLE – Julie Roberts has plans to release new music to fans, exclusively at JulieRoberts.com as part of a new series called “Naked.”
“For a long time now, I’ve been contemplating the concept of having a series of musical releases called ‘Naked’,” she says. “I’m so excited to tell you that I am beginning this series today!”
The series stems from one of Roberts’ favorite parts of her live shows – the moments she spends giving an intimate performance of a song using just her voice and a single instrument.
“I decided to take that intimate arrangement into the studio and record stripped down or ‘Naked’ versions of some of my favorite songs for you,” Roberts says. “I feel like this simple production approach allows you to hear every emotion I’m feeling when I’m singing. Each song is just my voice paired with minimal instrumentation. In other words, I am naked.”
The first song in the series is “I’ve Been Looking For Somebody,” a song she wrote while channeling the music she grew up listening to, specifically having Patsy Cline in mind. Using just her voice and a Wurlitzer, she wrote and recorded “A song that I might hear on one of Patsy’s records.”
Roberts plans to release new songs in the “Naked” series as often as possible, so fans are encouraged to check back often or stay in touch on her official Facebook and Twitter accounts.
